Pinay child’s dream… To be a lawyer.

Dearest Carla,

My prayer for you: May you PASS and TOP the BAR exam.

“The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27)

Aim as high as the sky. Be a topnotcher. Do not limit yourself to the ceiling. That’s aspiring to pass the BAR exam.

Throw your limiting beliefs. Some of these may include: (1) “I’m not the brightest, smartest, wisest or most intelligent in our class.” (2) To prove that thought, you may say, “I did not even graduate as valedictorian or cum laude.” (3) “I haven’t read all the books, articles, and cases that will assure me to top.

My advice, write all your reasons why you will not pass the exam. Read it once again, crumple the paper and throw it directly to the trash can.

Focus on what you have, what you’ve done, your abilities and your goal. Take a clean paper and write your answers to these questions. What do you have? What have you done as preparation for the BIG exam? What are your abilities that can help you achieve your goal?

What you focus on expands. So read these things daily. Like a vitamin, it will boost your body, as well as your mind and self-confidence.

Pray. I know you already prayed a lot and attended novenas a lot as well. If you prayed to pass and top, then claim it and rejoice. Affirm it daily by saying, “Thank you Lord that I pass and top the exam.”

A very nice story about the farmers was told by Bo Sanchez. He said that the farmers who planted were going to mass every Sunday, praying for the rain. The priest then said, “Every week you have been praying for the rain to pour, but did anyone of you bring umbrella?

Claim it Carla. Claim it every single day. Every morning, every night, every breakfast, lunch or dinner. Claim it every time.

Carla, can you imagine even something better than passing and being a topnotcher? I think that is to be #1. Ooops! Do not doubt! Pray for it, claim it, rejoice and thank God for it.
If you think its impossible, then why not think ITS POSSIBLE.

“The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27)

Your actions. Reading the book at public places, may it be in a fastfood chain or a jeepney, it doesn’t matter. Time is so precious this past few months that you don’t want to waste it so you even read a book while walking to wherever you’re heading.

You parents’ sacrifices for you. Ofcourse you know every penny they spent to send you to the university. The love they dedicated, care, support and understanding that they gave to you unconditionally, now you want to give it back by not disappointing them. You don’t want to fail because you don’t want to fail them.

Your dream is also their dream. So dream the best for yourself because they’re dreaming the best for you.
Remember when you told me that we’ll still be friends even if you fail the exam? That will be the last time you will ever say that because your family and friends are so supportive of you. They actually believe in you more than you believe in yourself that you’ll pass the exam.

Believe in yourself. No room for doubt please. You may not be the brightest or smartest or wisest or most intelligent. But you have prepared the field well. Not only your mind and body, but also your FAITH in Him. He is your greatest fan, the Greatest One who believes in you to pass and top the BAR exam

Carla, I may not know how exactly you think and feel right now. Your anxiety, excitement, and mixed emotions are kept in you. But whatever your heart’s deepest desire for this upcoming BAR exam, I pray that you receive it in Jesus name.

Carla, claim and achieve your child’s dream… Be a lawyer.

Congratulations Attorney Carla Binag! (handshake, hug, applause)

Love lots,
Bobet

Laugh more. Live more.

Take it light and laugh.

My mom always gets angry at my father when he does things that my mom repeatedly asks him to do or stop doing.

My sister even hears my mom getting angry during an online conversation.

My sister advice goes like this: “Mom, whenever you are about to get angry at dad,” she says, “laugh!” “Ahahahahaha! You did not return the pair of scissors to its proper location! Ahahahaha! You just left the banana skin on the table! Ahahaha!"

"Mom, it will make you feel better, and younger,” she continued.

You actually use less number of muscles to laugh than frown and get angry. Thus, you conserve your energy. Also, through laughing, you release stress, thus make your blood flow better. On the other hand, frowning and getting angry and stressed in small or big things can cause increase in blood pressure, which may lead to heart problems or even stroke.

See! Laughing can make you feel happy and healthy! So learn to laugh everyday! Make it a habit starting today.

Stop taking everything seriously. Have fun with life.

So what if someone does things that you don’t like? You don’t have to frown and get angry. Smile and laugh. And laugh out loud!

Have room for failures and mistakes. Do not be hard on yourself and others.

Remember one day you will be on your death bed, we all will, don't lay there wishing you had laughed more, smiled more, have more fun.

Understanding

Why is this happening Oh Lord?
I don’t know why I knew my ex-boyfriend.
At a point in my life, a guy loved me so much, and cared about me so much. This guy understood me so much that he even understands me even when I can no longer understand myself. He loved me that much.
I did not feel that kind of love, understanding and care from my ex-boyfriend.
I felt like my ex-boyfriend was a mission to me. I wanted to make him feel the kind of love, care, and understanding that I had. That made me keep our relationship for a while. But it still ended. I thought I was already successful in giving him the love that I imagined. Sad to say, he said that he did not feel it.
Yes, sure, there were happy moments. But I felt like I adjusted more to fit with him. Worse, I even felt more hurt than love. He told me “Yes, it’s true, at some point before, he pushed me away, and he was bad at me.” Ouch! That hurt a lot! I asked him to say sorry for what he did but he said that that was already past gone. He did not say sorry because according to him I was late in telling him his faults. He even said “If your son did a mistake before, and he is correcting it now, you will not tell him his mistakes before, right?” That moment, I felt not understood.
I was hurt,” I said. “Is it my fault if  I just felt the pain now, when you stabbed me months or years ago?”
I am really hurt. But he said he was also hurt.
Ok.
I am asking him to say sorry because I know in that way, I will heal faster. But he did not. Instead, he just said, he was already sorry for what he did so he is changing now.
I really want to leave him, as a friend and a business partner. But honestly, I can’t. It’s difficult. “Lord God why?” I pleaded. I can hear Him say, “Because you are the only one who can understand him.” I even told him that I want to leave and if ever I will be leaving him, kawawa naman siya.
I want to leave because I want to heal. After my realizations that he was bad at me, my heart and mind was full of anger and hurt. I want to heal. I believe that I will heal faster and better if I stay far from him and not talk to him, maybe for a while of even for years. With that I was clear that I want to leave him to heal.
I want to leave because I want him to realize my worth. As they say, “You will never realize one’s worth until he or she is gone."
I also thought that he doesn’t really know how to value people. He was able to leave a 6-year relationship. He still fights with his mom at the age of 29. Thus, I concluded, he can also give me up and our friendship.
Conflicting thoughts at the back of my mind. Will he realize my worth? Will it really help me to become a better person leaving him? What if he will meet someone that he thinks can understand, care and love him more than I do? Will I ever find someone for me? Is he really my mission?
I deserve a better person. I deserve the best. I will not settle for anything less, just like him. And even if he is already a changed man and single, I will never go back to him, not again.
I can feel it in my heart and mind, I’m angry and hurt.
Why is this happening?
I clearly don’t know. But I just read today, from Rissa Sangson-Kawpeng’s Confessions of an Imaptient Bride, that God never disappoints. St. Francis of Assisi wrote, “Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”

I clearly don’t know when I can forgive my ex-boyfriend and when I can heal. All I can do now is to love, care and understand myself more everyday and pray for God’s healing, love and grace as I deal with my healing.
Today, as part of my healing, I said more than 10 times that I love myself.
It’s not as easy as easy moving on after a break-up. But affirmations like “I love myself” and “I deserve the best” as many times as possible everyday help.
To love more than I could? Was that his mission to me? To bring out the best in me? Probably not. I think he is bringing the worst in me.
Lord, guide me as I make decisions in life.
I trust in You.
I love You.
Aha! Thank God I remembered what Bo Sanchez said during the Feast. If your boyfriend dumps you, be thankful. God is taking someone away from you to make room for a better one.
Thank God! Alleluia! I can see the heaven’s gate to true happiness. Love it!
Now, at 11pm, I have a clearer mindset of going back to Saudi as a nurse. To heal a broken heart, to leave a person, to make room for a better one…
Now, magaan sa pakiramdam.
Emotionally ready nako sa flight next month. Yehey!
Goodnight;=)
